The annual Box Cricket tournament took place this Ramadhan. With 12 teams, over 72 players and plenty of cheerful spectators, the tournament ended in a fun-spirited final between the Vintage Smashers and The Magical Matadors.
After the first innings, it looked like the Matadors would add to their previous accolades in this tournament but a show of brilliant bowling by the Vintage Smashers turned the game on its head as they coasted to victory.
The tournament brought forth a brotherhood marked with laughter, competition, bonding and a grand show of sportsmanship in the Nairobi ANJ community. Furthermore, it has increased the love for cricket in the Dawoodi Bohras, bringing in more and more interested gents on the pitch – from hobbyists to elite players.
ANJ looks forward to bringing the community together for more such tournaments; nothing like a lively sport ground to lift spirits
