Our outdoor volleyball court is complete with having met federation standards, flooring and lighting. The court is suitable for classes, friendly games and professional tournaments.
This ground at the ANJ sports centre hosts two teams in the competition, separated by a taut net. The sports played here are volleyball (by the men) and throw-ball (by the women).
The revamped court has a newly laid rubber mat that’s easier on the feet and gives the sport a fresh, modernized appeal. It has clearly marked boundary lines, attack lines and service areas.
It only took a myriad of Friday nights which then turned to all-week-long practices for volleyball to earn its admiration and popularity in the community. Volleyball has pulled in vast crowds in the past in BEASF and other competitions; crowds pregnant with excitement, disappointment, and hope and had their breaths held each time the service-men started off play.
We pay a salute to the age-old players who set in motion this volleyball frenzy. The sport will continue to inspire more players in the upcoming events, if not bring in more glee for the teams.
Today, the volleyball ground has been stepped on by many a team, with each player aiming for the top team and the teams aiming for the winning trophy.
The current leading teams are Team Simba and Team Kifaru.
